Right back at the beginning of developing this site, I promised to do a quick review of Sudoku Solving Techniques which you can see in the right hand margin. I think it’s appropriate to set up a reviews section to cover as many of the sudoku products that are out there and I will get to this when I get time.
So, Sudoku Solving Techniques. I checked this set of videos out when I first started putting the site together as a possible way to help you all get to to be sudoku solvers quicker than waiting for me to post a load of articles.
Of all the products out there, this one struck me as being a great visual addition to everything that I hoped to do on here. It’s obvious from the outset that the author Neel Mehta is neither American nor English (I’m in the UK if you wanted to know). If you follow down the fairly long features page when you click through, you will find short samples of two of the videos available as an introduction to the style of the product.
I’m going to say here that I found it pretty easy to listen to, with the caveat of the accent as above, but I would encourage you to listen to these first as it may be harder for others to get “in tune” with the audio and there’s nothing more annoying than trying to decipher someone speaking as you are listening to it.
Having said all that, I really like the animation effects, illustrating many of the points I have tried to get across with my diagrams. I think these are very clear and add a lot to the presentation.
I’m going to stick my neck out and say that if you want to get your sudoku solving skills built up as far as possible, you will do well if you get hold of this set of videos. The techniques shown will get you up to speed quickly and the bonuses he has included will give you practice. You will probably end up an expert long before I have completed the series of posts covering it all.
The cost of the package is currently $27 and it is all delivered electronically so you can get started straight away. You can find it here.
